When recording an entire
band simultaneously, including electric guitar, bass, drums,
keyboards, vocals and acoustic guitar, various techniques are
utilized. Typically, two very quiet Iso-booths are used for recording
vocals and miking acoustic guitar. We use direct
recording techniques for bass and guitar with virtual amp technology
(listen to Amplitube 2 and Ampeg
SVX plugin demos). For drums, we use
the incredible Roland TD-20 (Their Flagship
Electronic Drumkit).
This kit plays and sounds like real drums - just listen to the
demo! For piano, B3 organ and
all other keyboard sounds, we use an 88-key fully weighted midi
controller with several incredible virtual instruments including Ivory for
acoustic piano, B4 II for organ,
and Lounge Lizard for Electric
Piano. Again, check out the demos you see linked here. Also,
recording direct has an added benefit of being much cleaner and
quieter. |
